My cousin was sick with chickenpox. She was really uncomfortable. The illness was going around the schools and many children were coming down with it. My cousin heard her parents talking about it and they mentioned that “Joey” had given the sickness to “Tommy,” “Tommy” had then given it to “Suzy,” and “Suzy” had in turn given it to my cousin. Somehow in the midst of that discussion, my cousin had gotten the idea that the only way you could get rid of the sickness was to give it to someone else. Therefore, she asked her parents if they could invite me over so she could give it to me. She was miserable. She wanted relief. It may not have been the kindest thought she ever had, but if giving it to someone else would relieve her, she was ready to do it.
