Indigenous Peoples Day 2021
A large crowd gathered Monday afternoon on the Creek Council House square in downtown in recognition of Indigenous Peoples Day. The third annual event, coordinated by Brenda Golden with the assistance of Terra Beaver and James Whitecloud, brought attention to Native customs, songs, food and the language. Pictured above is the Mvskoke National Honor Guard who opened the day with the Posting of Colors and the Flags. Another Indigenous Day event was held at the College of the Muscogee Nation.
