McGruff the Crime Dog continued a tour of the area by visiting youngsters at the Muscogee Nation Head Start Program last week. On Wednesday, Winston Cavendish, the officer who portrays McGruff the Crime Dog, visited with both the Okmulgee Police and Sheriff’s Office during a stopover. Cavendish is from Slidell, Louisiana and says in his 39 years of being “his dog” he has had the opportunity to meet his “favorite people,” police officers, all across the country. COURTESY PHOTOS
