Okmulgee Schools Superintendent Renee Dove is pictured above left with the district’s Child Nutrition Director Chef Jim Price and his trophy after the USA BMX Grand Nationals last week at Tulsa’s Expo Square.The five-day bicycle motocross event brings in more than 3,600 athletes from all 50 states and 25 different countries. Price, an avid BMX rider since he was age 12, competed in the 46-50 year old age class. He advanced all the way to the main event to cross the finish line at 6th place. Price last competed at the 2001 Grand Nationals, and only advanced to the semi-finals. After returning to competing this summer, Price committed to achieving his childhood dream of reaching the Grand Nationals’ main event.
