Hidden?
Have you ever wondered about the meanings of some of the sayings we overhear and often use? I have. One of those sayings is: “It will all come out in the wash.” Now, the logical meaning would be that when you wash something, all the dirt and stains are cleaned up. But, in actual use, it is also used to say that whatever is hidden will be revealed. Merriam-Webster notes that the second meaning of the phrase means “The truth will be known in the future.” That’s almost an opposite meaning to cleaning and removing dirt or stains. It means that whatever dirt or stains that are there will be revealed.
