County fires keep agencies busy
Rural and city fire departments were busy over the weekend battling fires. According to Okmulgee County Emergency Management Director Tim Craighton, approximately 2,000 acres burned due to ‘carelessness or arson.’ “We are just getting into fire season good,” Craighton said, “so it’s going to require some diligence and being careful when we light fires.” Craighton added that there was a controlled burn also last week.
