An Okmulgee Times reader recently shared this photo from downtown Okmulgee. Alan Lovelady sent this photo from 1948, showing his mother, Vera Sue (Lemley) Lovelady, second from right, near the corner of 7th and Morton in front of Central Drug. Pictured in the snow with her were Hoyt Ostrander, Pearl George and Betty (Brewer) Mantooth. Ostrander, who owned and operated Central Drug, also served as president of the Okmulgee Rotary Club. His father, Worth Ostrander, started Central Drug in the early 1920s. COURTESY PHOTO
