Easter Sunday is this week. Easter always falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the spring equinox. Easter, therefore, can fall on any Sunday between March 22 and April 25. How crazy is that?! Easter is a Christian holiday that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth three days after he died. Easter is really so much more than just one day though. Churches around the world lead up to Easter weekend with sermons, plays and movie showings depicting his last months of teaching, betrayal, torture and crucifixion leading up to death but culminating on Easter Sunday with the celebration of resurrection and what that means for mankind. The resurrection is considered the most important event in Jesus’ life.
