VFW Post 1189 held their Poetry Night event May 25. The first half-hour, the poets honored public service groups they were representing including the Okmulgee Fire Department, school teachers, Muscogee Nation Medical Center, Sheriff/Police Department, Boy Scouts, Native Americans, and soldiers. The latter half of the program was open to anyone who wanted to share their poems.
