OK Staudt Jewelers
On the 4th of July, 1939, a young man named O.K. (Oscar Kasper) Staudt, a jeweler by trade, arrived in Okmulgee and reported to work. He came all the way from Fredericksburg, Texas where he learned his trade as a watchmaker/ jeweler and worked for his eldest brother, a Master Jeweler. A sister and two brothers were also taught by their brother and pursued a jewelry career. While working for his brother, Oscar heard of a job opening in Okmulgee from a jewelry salesman. Wanting to move on, Oscar contacted “Hielborn Brothers Jewelers.” He was hired and moved to start “plying his trade” as a Master Jeweler with his own repair business within their store.
