Sometimes, my wife says that I was born in the wrong era. She thinks I would have made a good mountain man, you know, kind of an 1820s’ era person. I have my doubts. I like my creature comforts too much. I’m not sure that I would enjoy wading around knee-deep in “ice-cold” water to place beaver traps. Nor do I think that I would enjoy skinning them, scraping the hides, stretching them and doing all the other preparatory work involved in getting the pelts ready for market.
