Dawson Keith Sumner, 19, of Beggs, passed away December 31, 2022. He was born October 6, 2003, in Oklahoma City, to parents Derek Sumner and Heather (Murry) Sumner.
Dawson was a 2022 graduate of Preston High School. He was a college student and had just wrapped up another semester at Carl Albert University and had plans to attend OSUIT in the spring.
“He had a love for baseball. Center field was his happy place. They put him in centerfield because they knew it didn’t matter where the ball was hit, Dawson would get there first. He was so fast. But his love for people was his shining light. He loved so fiercely & people loved him back because of that light. His smile & laugh were contagious & he was so competitive. He won the final round and got the true victory as he’s resting in the arms of Jesus giving him one of his big hugs that he loved giving & possibly even talking Him into rubbing his back.”
Dawson is preceded in death by his papa Henry Murry; great grandpa Keith Sumner and great grandma Jo Sumner.
