The Oklahoma Art Educator Association hosts a juried art competition for both Middle School and High School Students. The Young Talent in Oklahoma and Jr. Young Talent in Oklahoma art competitions are two of the most prestigious in the state, and qualify students for the State Superintendent’s Award. Teachers are asked to select 25 pieces for general entry and may also submit senior portfolios. This year, there were over 700 general entries submitted and 56 senior portfolios. Ms. Perry, Preston Art Teacher, submitted 25 general entries and one senior portfolio in the high school division and 10 pieces in the middle school division.
