Uncertainty
The only vehicle we owned was a pickup truck. My Dad had traded our family car for a pickup. We managed because there were only three of us now: Mom, Dad and I. Dad did cement work (sidewalks, driveways, and patios) on weekends for extra money. A pickup to transport forms, wheelbarrow, and tools made sense. I think Mom hated it.
