Not Much Light
Rolling blackouts were the order of the day. The power plant was overloaded, so blackouts became necessary. Several cities in northern Brazil were therefore subjected to periods of time with no electricity. The power would be available in the morning on some days and in the evening on others. The system of blackouts rotated; two days in the evenings and one day in the morning. The result was that some Sundays we had no power to light our sanctuary in the evenings. Seeing as how the main service was Sunday night, that was a problem.
