During the recent 97th annual Oklahoma FFA State Convention in Tulsa last month, Lane and Shay Pilkington were recognized for establishing a permanent trust within the Oklahoma FFA Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing awards and scholarships to students enrolled in high school agricultural education and members of the Oklahoma FFA Association.
The efforts of the foundation are made possible by the permanent trust donors such as Mr. and Mrs. Pilkington,” Jacey Fye, executive director of the Oklahoma FFA Foundation, said.
Lane and Shay Pilkington reside in Okmulgee where they are very involved with the Okmulgee FFA Chapter, receiving the Honorary Chapter FFA Degree in 2022, and are also actively involved in the Okmulgee First Baptist Church. Lane is a graduate of Sapulpa High School where he was a member of the State FFA Chorus for two years. Shay graduated from Jenks High School. Lane and Shay have two sons and are both very actively involved in the community organizations of Okmulgee.
“Because of the FFA Foundation and its donors, Oklahoma FFA members get to enjoy a world-class convention experience – without having to fundraise for individual convention registration,” Tim Taylor, Okmulgee FFA Chapter advisor, said. “We are very fortunate to have supporters like the Pilkingtons right in our backyard making a difference in the lives of FFA members across the state.”
