A Coweta man was killed in a two-vehicle accident Friday evening on Highway 16.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported the crash happened at 7:32 p.m. on the highway, about 110 feet west of Hwy. 52 near Preston.
A 2006 Harley Davidson FSI, driven by Russell Gadlage, 65, of Coweta, was eastbound on Hwy. 16, when he was struck by a 2007 Dodge Ram truck that was westbound on Hwy. 16.
The truck, driven by Michael Whitehead, 33 of Okmulgee, reportedly made a left turn into a private drive and struck the motorcycle driven by Gadlage, who was pronounced deceased at the scene by Okmulgee County EMS.
Neither Whitehead or an eight-year-old passenger in his vehicle was injured.
The cause of the collision is under investigation by the OHP. Assisting at the scene was the Okmulgee County Sheriff ’s Office, Twin Hills Fire Department and Okmulgee County EMS.
