Each June, thousands of people gather at the Claude Cox Omniplex in Okmulgee, the home of the Muscogee Nation, for a weekend filled with activities celebrating Muscogee life and culture.
This year, the event will be held June 2225, now in it’s 47th year. The festival began in 1974.
During the festival, there will activites including the Junior Olympics, senior activities, a rodeo, volleyball tournament, golf tournament at Fountainhead Lodge, slow-pitch and fast-pitch tournaments, tennis tournament, arts and crafts, a 5K Run, lots of food, live entertainment, a fun fair and much more.
The Muscogee Nation Festival Parade will take place on 6th Street in downtown Okmulgee and proceed on a route passing directly in front of the Creek Council House Museum beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 24.
More information about the live entertainment will be released in the upcoming weeks.
To conclude the festival, there will be fireworks on Friday and Saturday, June 23-24, following the last performance.
