How can you make a big difference?
Volunteer - put your skills to use for a great cause!
No matter your passion, whether it be puppy and kitten care, getting your steps from walking shelter dogs, filing paperwork, event coordination and cleaning and to everything in between - we have a volunteer role that joins purpose with passion would you join us in our life-saving effort?
-We provide you with the food, healthcare, toys and other necessities, and you provide them with ample love. As our organization is 100% foster-based, we must have fosters or adoptions to save animals from city shelter. Fostering is both fun and fulfilling! Can you step in to make a big impact?
--- Adopt - Why shop? Choose to adopt!
Oklahoma ranks No. 10 in shelter euthanasia in the United States. By adopting, you are making room for another shelter pet to take their place in a foster home. From puppies and kittens to dogs and cats of all ages, we will work to find you the best match! Ready to meet your new BFF?
--- Give - donations make it all possible.
As a 501c3 nonprofit, Okmulgee Humane Society relies on donations and grants. By donating, your funds go toward causes such as food, medication, veterinary care, boarding costs, community assist and much more. Thank you for considering donating to our cause. We are immensely grateful for your generosity.
--- Spay/Neuter - prevent unwanted litters and benefit your pet’s health.
Every year, millions of cats and dogs are euthanized in our nation’s animal shelters because there are more pets than there are responsible homes for them. Even just one litter of puppies - in seven year’s time - amounts to 50,000 more dogs. One litter of kittens amounts to 420,000 more cats in just seven years! More? Spaying and neutering benefits your pet’s health by preventing cancers and behavioral issues like aggression and more.
