Quinn, tennis team get big win at USTA competition

Okmulgee Schools Counselor and Coach James Quinn and his team came away with a big win at the USTA Missouri Valley sectionals held in Oklahoma City.

Currently, Quinn and his team are USTA Men’s 3.0 Oklahoma Champions and as of last weekend, they are the USTA 3.0 Missouri Valley champions.

Quinn is currently ranked number three in the USTA Missouri Valley and is #28 in the nation. He was undefeated during regular season play.

He and his team compete in the 55 and Over bracket.

Quinn and his wife Michelle, both Okmulgee School counselors, are credited with the restart of the tennis program in the schools. They are looking forward to having a great team and season at both the junior high and varsity level.

The couple recently hosted a tennis camp in Okmulgee and have received lots of assistance from both locally and nationally known companies and organizations with balls and racquets for Okmulgee students.
