Joe was born to James and Barbara Taylor in Okmulgee. He has two brothers, Bryan Teague and Daniel Taylor, and four sisters, Rebecca Teague Hertel, Danielle Taylor, Deborah Taylor and Denise Taylor.

He attended Westside Elementary, Okmulgee and Alice Robertson in Muskogee. He graduated from Muskogee High School.

Joe moved to Verdigris with his wife Loralee. He worked for the City of Claremore as a meter reader. When they divorced, he moved to Okmulgee to live with his mother.

His beloved son Tank lived with him in Okmulgee for five years. Joe worked for his brother Bryan at Coalton Shavings and Feed and then Elara Caring Home Health Care.

October 2, 1975 – September 6, 2023

Joe passed away in Tulsa on September 6, 2023. He is survived by his mother Barbara Cole, honorary parents Bill and Dianna Marris, Ada Jones and brothers, sisters and their families and many, many friends; also, the many fish he failed to catch.

Services will be held Wednesday, September 13, at 10:30 a.m. at Jubilee Christian Center, 12430 N. 230 Rd. in Okmulgee.
