Ralph Edward Bailey, a beloved husband, father, brother and friend, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023, at the age of 88 at his home in Morris. Ed was born on February 6, 1935, in Oklahoma City to the late James and Evaline (Buckley) Bailey.
In 1955, Ed relocated to Oregon, driven by his deep love for his wife, Sharon Roberts. Later, in 1972, he settled in Morris, where he established his family home, a testament to his dedication and hard work. Completing the home in 1973, Ed created a loving space where cherished memories were made and shared for many years to come.
Ed was known for his skilled craftsmanship as a builder. Beyond his profession, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had an unyielding passion for gardening. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping.
A devout member of New Life Church Assembly of God in Henryetta, Ed’s faith was the cornerstone of his life. His unwavering faith in God was an inspiration to many.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Sharon Bailey; father, James Bailey; mother, Evaline Bailey; brothers, James Bailey, Floyd Bailey, Robert Bailey, Calvin Bailey; sisters, Wanda Wagner, Anna Bell Holt and infant brother, Donald Bailey.
He is survived by his brother Monroe Bailey and sister Loretta Cammack; his sons Richard and wife Jo Linda Bailey, Roy and wife Renee Bailey, Russell and wife Trisha Bailey all of Morris and Ralph and wife Yonda Bailey of Broken Arrow. Grandchildren Holly and husband Andrew Deubel, Austin and wife Carrie Bailey, James and wife Jalynda Bailey, of Morris, Kendyl and husband Eric Gray of Okmulgee, Cassidy and husband Jacob Looney of Ponca City, Morgan Bailey of Okmulgee and Dustin Bailey of Broken Arrow. Great-grandchildren Abigail and Olivia Deubel; Saige, Lilly and Amelia Bailey; Samantha, Henry and Charlotte Bailey; and Case Gray. He is also remembered fondly by numerous other relatives and friends.
A public viewing and visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Schaudt’s Okmulgee Funeral Service Chapel. A funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at First Assembly of God, 301 N. Seminole in Okmulgee, with Rev. Cordell Hines officiating. A graveside service will follow at Morris Cemetery.
