Paint brush Black poster board Instructions Stack boxes as desired to form fireplace. I used two taller ones for the sides with a smaller box on top just to make it a little taller and then one solid box across the top. I didn’t want to risk the boxes coming apart down the road. Glue the boxes together where needed and then use the packing tape to secure them together while the glue sets. Allow glue to set completely. Wrap the boxes with end roll paper. Tape it down to the boxes. Cut a piece of cardboard into a rectangle the size you want your bricks. Place cardboard against paper at the bottom of the fireplace and trace around the stencil. Move stencil over about ½ an inch and trace it again. Repeat process most of the way up all the way around the fireplace. I left about a foot or a foot and a half at the top for the mantle. Once the whole thing is stenciled, paint each brick. Paint flames on poster board using red, yellow and orange paint. I added Command Strip Hooks for adding stockings. It’s a little time consuming because of painting the bricks but it’s so worth it!
