An Okmulgee man died in a collision Saturday, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The OHP stated the crash happened at 12:05 a.m. Dec. 23 on Hwy. 75 southbound, ¼ mile north of Cedar Rd. near Schulter.
The victim, Michael Owen, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene by Okmulgee County EMS due to injuries sustained in the incident.
The investigation revealed that Owen was driving a 2012 Dodge Ram and was “weaving” and struck a 2018 Ford F15 driven by Phillip Ho, 35, of Okmulgee, in the rear.
The Dodge then rolled approximately three times and ejected the driver approximately 30 feet from the vehicle.
Ho was not injured.
The OHP attributed the crash to alcohol. The weather was foggy with the roadway dry at the time of the crash.
The collision was investigated by Trooper Presley and assisted by members of Okmulgee County Sheriff ’s Office, Okmulgee County EMS and Schulter Fire Department.
