The remains of a man reported missing since Jan. 11 has been discovered, according to the Okmulgee County Sheriff ’s Office.
According to Undersheriff Smokey Patchin, the OCSO responded on Jan. 19 around 6 p.m. to an address on Will Sampson Road near Preston about a missing person.
Deputies met with concerned family members that reported Patrick D. Forman had not been seen or heard from since approximately Jan. 11.
An investigation into the disappearance began by the department at that time, with investigators search during the early hours of Jan. 20, and continued working throughout the day in an effort to locate the missing man.
Forman’s remains were located on Jan. 21 in a wooded area near the home.
A scene investigation was conducted by both OCSO investigators as well as the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office, and the remains were transported to Tulsa for further investigation into the cause of death.
Sheriff Rice thanks those who shared the social media post regarding this matter.
“OCSO Investigators are finalizing their report at this time and will wait until a determination of death is made by the Medical Examiner’s Office before closing the case out,” Patchin stated. “There is no concern of foul play regarding this investigation, but out of respect for the family the OCSO is not releasing further information at this time.”
