The owner, board members and volunteers for the Landmark for All Generations, LLC thank East Central Electric as they accepted the Operation Round-Up Grant presented by ECE representative Lylah Sparks this week in front of the historic structure. Pictured from left are Patrick Ford, Delores Tarkington, Lylah Sparks, owner Leman Lewis and volunteers George Bell and K.J. Reinsmith. Not pictured are Donnie Alexander, Julie Roberds, John Robinson, Judy Grant and Mickey Baldwin. The former Okmulgee Colored Hospital recently marked 100 years, having opened its doors on Feb. 22, 1924. Fundraising efforts are ongoing to help restore the facility, which will house a museum with medical artifacts and also a space for educational, learning, entrepreneurs and community gatherings.
