Norman, Stockholm lead HHS link squads in 2024 season openers
The Henryetta varsity golf program kicked off its 2024 season with back-to-back trips to Sapulpa to compete at the Sperry Invitational Tournament.
The Lady Knight golf squad officially began the new campaign last Friday at the Sapulpa Municipal Golf Course, while the Knight golfers battled the same course three days later.
The Lady Knights finished with a team total of 410 with the top individual HHS golfer being junior Breea Stockholm, who finished the event with an 18-hole score of 92. Abby Pemberton was next individually for the Lady Knights with an overall score of 99, followed by Ella Thompson at 109, Maddie Carter at 110, Gabby Stuart at 115, and Addy Chavez at 117.
On Monday, junior Brady Norman finished with an individual 18-hole score of 79, which was good enough for a tie for 8th overall. As a team, the Knights finished with a score of 356, which was good enough for sixth place – out of 20 teams.
The other individual scores for the Knights on Monday were Maverix Randleman at 91, Caveryn Foster at 92, Hunter Gobin at 94, and Nakona Johnson at 99. Jacob Pye also carded an 18-hole score of 99 for the Henryetta gentlemen, playing as an individual.
The girls golf team was back in action this past Wednesday, competing at the Dewey Invitational at the Adams Course in Bartlesville. The HHS golf squads will begin next week’s scheduled action at the Wewoka Invitational with the girls tournament taking place Monday, followed by the boys tournament on Tuesday.
