Galen Brad Turner, a longtime Beggs resident, was born Tuesday May 28, 1935, in Oklahoma City to Kenneth B. and Mary Ester (Alspaw) Turner Hodson. He passed from this life on Sunday March 24, 2024, in Tulsa at 88 years of age.
Galen attended and graduated from Okmulgee High School. On May 26, 1966, he married Carol Ann (Rice). In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, hunting (especially deer), farming and going to his grandkids sporting events. Galen was preceded in death by both his parents, Kenneth and Mary; two brothers, Roger and Leon Turner; daughter Gale Potter; and stepson, Barney Hawkins.
He is survived by his wife Carol of the home, children; sons, Kevin Turner and wife Dalley, and Brad Turner and wife Pam; daughters, Sharon Robinson and husband John, and Karen Lujan and husband Steve; and brother, Ray Turner. Galen had eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many other family members and loved ones.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 11 a.m. at McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Beggs, with Rev. John Tidwell officiating.
