Dewar enters tournament Thursday at Shawnee
The 27-2 Dewar Dragon baseball team, led by Coach Josh Kilhoffer, will travel to Shawnee High School tomorrow to begin their quest for the Class A State Baseball Championship, to be held May 2-4.
This is the fourth appearance by Dewar at State. The Dragons completed their run to State after taking down Drumright and Sentinel last week in the OSSAA Regional Tournament, and will face Arapaho-Butler (25-2) at 6:30 p.m. Their coach is Bryan Holt.
The Class A State Tournament begins at 11 a.m. as Okarche (22-4) will face off against Wright City (25-4); followed by Tushka (27-2) taking on the Canute (23-4) at 1:30 p.m. and Rattan (28-5) meeting Amber-Pocasset (25-6) at 4 p.m.
A win by the Dragons tomorrow will send Dewar to a semi-final clash at 1:30 p.m.
The championship game will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Team members are Johnathan Wilson, Haiden Kaler, Aidan Tomlinson, JoJo Waters, Blake Silkwood, Tanner Wilson, Brison Larney, Zach Mullen, Peyton Kilhoffer, Andrew Paden, Christian Cargola, Nick Constanza, Skelly Taylor, Stoney Yaerger, Jacob Paden, Luke Hankins, Vinton Goff and Jeron Brison.
Assistant coaches are Keith Furer, Cade Furer, Matt Ross, Jake Stapp and Joe Fowler.
