Coach Vicky Graham and members of the Preston School Jump Rope Team had the perfect day Saturday as they held a shoe drive and car wash fundraiser at 8th and Wood Drive, next to O’Reilly Auto Parts. Besides washing and drying the many vehicles that came through, the team also collected newly and gently worn, clean shoes that will be donated to an agency to aid those in need. The shoe drive continues through September. There is a box that will be available at the Okmulgee Times office at 320 W. 6th Street for those wishing to make donations. At the recent Oklahoma Jump Rope Competition, the Preston Pirates brought home 1st overall in the Gold division at the competition. These skilled athletes (1st Grade-HS) practice multiple times a week after school and that hard work paid off. This team has won numerous state awards for the past several years.
