It was an exciting week of activities as the Muscogee Nation celebrated its rich heritage at the annual Muscogee Nation Festival. The citizens and community were able to enjoy a plethora of activities, including the opening stomp dance, nationally recognized entertainers, athletics, food, fun and the annual parade. Each night of the festival concluded with an outstanding fireworks display. Second Chief Del Beaver is shown braving the heat during the parade through downtown Okmulgee. Thanks to the many volunteers who helped once again make this a wonderful experience. See additional photos on page A10 and even more in Friday’s edition.
The Muscogee Nation Festival returned to Okmulgee last weekend with the annual parade in downtown Okmulgee. Pictured are some of the participants at this year’s parade.
