Several residents remain without power across Okmulgee County and the eastern part of the state, after a storm powered its way through the area Wednesday morning. High winds uprooted trees and scattered debris along the path of the storm. Pictured are some of the trees uprooted in the Okmulgee County area, such as near the Beggs area, the Okmulgee YMCA and south of Henryetta. Crews from all three districts continue to clean up trees that have fallen during the storm as PSO, OG&E and East Central Electric worked to restore power to those affected. The Muscogee Nation Emergency Management provided generators to the Beggs Water Plant for use until power was restored, and water buffaloes were on stand by if needed. The cooler weather was only a brief reprieve, as hot temperatures will stick around for the weekend, with a chance for more much-needed rain.
