The Okmulgee Public Library held one of the final events of its summer reading program this week. Ventriloquist/ Magician Gary Ray Howell and his assistant Jake Cody entertained children during two separate shows on Wednesday. Gary, who has been performing since 2009, conducted several magic tricks, told jokes and got the children to participate in a number of fun, interactive activities. This year’s summer reading program theme was “Adventure Begins at Your Library.”
