Paul David Cook, 71, of Beggs, passed away on August 3, 2024, of a longtime illness. He was born in Okmulgee to Raymond and Beatrice Cook on December 24, 1952. He worked in roofing/siding, insurance, cattle ranching and owned/ operated Paul Cook Music Stores in Okmulgee and Coweta. Also, he was a musician and songwriter in many bands including Inside Looking Out and Paul Cook & Freewheelin’, a tribute to Bob Dylan. He enjoyed playing the bass guitar and piano, as well as doing his best Bob Dylan impression playing his acoustic guitar.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Pee wee Cook, Jackie Wells, Ella Mae York, Carolyn Holder and Peggy Fleming.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Beverly, of the home; sons Carey Rouse of Tulsa, December 24, 1952 – August 3, 2024
and Paul Delaney Cook of Beggs; daughter, Lesley Barker and husband John of Broken Arrow; grandson, Jakob Dylan Cook of Beggs; siblings, Don Wells and wife Carol of Owasso, Bonnie Shotwell of Eufaula and Sharon Cook Clarkson and husband, Billy of Twin Hills. Also, he leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends he played music with over the years.
Services have been provided by Gary Kelley’s Add’Vantage Funeral Services. A memorial will be announced at a later date.
