David N. Carson moved to Heaven on August 8, 2024, at the age of 70. David was a man whose immense humor and wisdom left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He was passionate about all things involving cars, approaching driving with the same excitement as a teenager who’d just gotten their license, always with the best stories to share along the way.
David’s love for God, his family, and his cars defined his life. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, always reminding those around him of the importance of smiling and taking a deep breath, no matter what life brought their way. His home was filled with warmth, laughter, and the soulful sounds of blues and classic rock from the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s, with artists like the Allman Brothers and ZZ Top creating the soundtrack to many cherished family memories.
David was also passionate about Big 12 sports, cheering for both the Oklahoma Sooners and the Oklahoma State Cowboys with the same fervor and joy he brought to all his passions.
He was the co-owner and CEO of Angelic Home Health and Hospice until it closed, after which he embraced a new chapter in his life, returning to school in his 60s. He proudly referred to himself as a February 10, 1954 – August 8, 2024
“geezer student” at Liberty University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Religion and Christian Counseling. David had just completed writing a book about his lifelong journey with God and religion, which is in the process of being published posthumously.
David was preceded in death by his father, Carly Carson, his mother, Joyce Carson, and his older brother, Stephen Carson. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 50 years, Margaret Carson; his three children, Drew Carson (wife, Sabrena), Carli Carson, and Mitchel Carson (wife, Nicole); his seven grandchildren, Drew Carson Jr. (wife, Sierra), Jada Carson, Jazmin Carson, Isaiah Carson, Cassidy Mc-Fadden, Evan McFadden, Zyler Carson; and his honorary granddog, Mason. He is also survived by his baby brother, Daniel Carson.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Okmulgee on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 11 a.m.
