Jennie McNac, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the age of 57. Jennie was born on July 20, 1967, in Tahlequah to her parents, Joseph McNac and Sharon Amos.
Jennie’slifewasmarked by her unwavering dedication to her family. She devoted much of her time and energy to raising her three children, nurturing them with love and care. Earlier in life, Jennie worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), where her compassion and kindness were evident to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A 1985 graduate of Okmulgee High School, Jennie was known for her vibrant personality and unique sense of style. Her family affectionately referred to her as a “professional shopper,” a title she wore with pride. Jennie found joy in searching for treasures at garage sales and stores, always looking for brightly colored items, with a special fondness for pink and tie-dye.
Jennie was preceded in death by her father, Joseph McNac, stepmother Chiquita McNac, and stepbrothers Douglas Juneau and Dennis Juneau. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her family, her children Jonathan McNac Sr., Jennifer McNac, and Jessica McNac; her mother Sharon Amos; and many other loving relatives. Jennie was also a proud grandmother to Jonathan McNac Jr., Alyah Pemberton, Jamichael Bell, and JaKoby Bell, who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
Jennie’s siblings Jacqueline Rolland and husband Robert, Justina Kemp and husband Anton, Juanetta McNac, Curtis Depauw and wife Dawn, Rufus Thomas Amos III and wife Elizabeth, Lisa Toney and husband Steve, and Janet Juneau will deeply miss her presence in their lives.
A wake service to honor Jennie’s life was held from 5-6 p.m. on August 25, 2024, at Schaudt’s Okmulgee Funeral Service Chapel at 220 S. Alabama Ave. in Okmulgee. A funeral service took place at Hickory Ground #2 Baptist Church beginning at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mitchell Taylor and Pastor Charles West officiating. The interment too place at the NcNac Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jonathan McNac Jr., Jantzen McNac, Julian Rolland, Phillip Ockletree, Mike Bell, and Marcus Lawrence. Honorary Pallbearers are Anton Kemp, Robert Rolland, Thomas Amos, Eric McNac, Curtis Depauw, and Tayler Williams.
