Vernon Ray Parker, Sr., age 68, retired staff at Okmulgee Public Schools, a resident of Okmulgee, died Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa surrounded by family.

Funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1500 N. Miami Ave. in Okmulgee, with Dr. Douglas Currington eulogizing. Interment will follow at Okmulgee Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 6, 2024, from 1-4 p.m.

The family has been cared for by House of Winn – Okmulgee.
