Madeline Simmons

November 4, 1947 – September 9, 2024

Madeline Simmons, age 76, passed away on September 9, 2024, in Okmulgee. She was born November 4, 1947, in Greensburg, Penn. to Howard and Betty (Smith) Bowen.

Madeline attended Okmulgee Schools. She worked as a nurse’s aide but her true calling was to be a homemaker and to take care of her family.

Madeline is preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry and an infant son. She is survived by her daughters Virginia Barnett-Gould, Brenda Gould, son Harlyy Vancil III and wife Teresa, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, brothers Billy Bowen, Larry Bowen and a half-sister Anna Brammer. Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Okmulgee Cemetery. Viewing was held Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 1-2 p.m. at McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel.
