The Preston is jumping into the national spotlight as they prepare for a remarkable opportunity. The team is raising funds to travel to New York City, where they hope to see the prestigious National Double Dutch Holiday Classic, held at the iconic Apollo Theater.
Coach Vicky Graham and the Preston Jump Rope team will host a Trivia Night Fundraiser event next Saturday, Oct. 5, at Tavern 56, 6th and Morton in downtown Okmulgee. Games begin at 6 p.m.
Tease your brain and win prizes for each category or the Grand Champion Trophy.
The cost is $120 for a table of four; add on members for $40 or single players are $40.
Besides the brain-teasing fun, there will be a silent auction to help raise additional funds.
For registration and further information, contact vgraham@ preston.k12.ok.us. Tavern 56 has been a big supporter of the team as they recently held a dinner fundraiser with team members acting as servers back in August.
Coach Graham also wanted to remind the community that the shoe collection drive is still going on with drop off locations at Preston Elementary School and also at the Okmulgee Times office located at 320 W. 6th Street.
The Preston Jump Rope team is also scheduled to perform at halftime during the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game on Jan 2, 2025. They have performed several times in the past during Thunder basketball games.
