The Henryetta Knights celebrated their Homecoming with a heart-pounding 42-41 victory over the Valliant Bulldogs, marking one of the most intense games of the season. The contest took place on Henryetta’s home field, where both teams traded blows in a back-and-forth battle that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.
— First Half Dominance
The Knights came out strong early in the game, capitalizing on solid rushing performances. Henryetta’s Nathan White put the first points on the board with a 9-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, though the missed extra point kept the score at 6-0. They extended their lead in the second quarter with a series of runs by William Perez and Jason Powders, making it 20-7 after two touchdowns, one of which included a successful 2-point conversion by Perez.
Valliant struck back before the half, as quarterback Brody Dorries found his rhythm, connecting with #2 for a touchdown pass. Despite their efforts, Henryetta entered halftime leading 26-13, thanks to a 37-yard rushing touchdown by Powders late in the second quarter.
— Third Quarter Comeback
Valliant showed resilience in the third quarter, led by Dorries’ offensive prowess. After another touchdown pass and two rushing scores, including one by Kenny Golston, the Bulldogs surged ahead 34-34. The Bulldogs’ defense also stepped up, creating turnovers and limiting Henryetta’s offensive production during key moments.
— Fourth Quarter Drama
The Bulldogs continued their momentum in the fourth quarter, taking a 41-34 lead with a 1-yard touchdown run from Golston. However, the Knights refused to back down. With under three minutes left in the game, Powders broke through Valliant’s defense for a 5-yard touchdown, followed by a 2-point conversion pass from Brady Norman to Gavin Williams, bringing Henryetta back into the lead, 42-41.

Powders was the star of the night for Henryetta, rushing for 294 yards on 24 carries and scoring three touchdowns. Perez also contributed two rushing touchdowns, while Nathan White added one.
