With all precincts reporting, Okmulgee County revealed decisive choices in federal, state and local races alongside critical propositions.
The 2024 General Election, held this Tuesday, Nov. 5, saw significant voter participation across federal, state and local offices. With all 25 precincts in Okmulgee County reporting, the unofficial results highlight voter preferences in races for U.S. President, State Representatives and Judicial Retention, alongside results for State Questions and local propositions.
One of the local races that drew attention was for State Representative District 16 which saw incumbent Scott Fetgatter-R face Rosie Lynch-D for the seat.
Unofficial results show Fetgatter with over 70 percent of the vote.
Rep. Fetgatter thanked Okmulgee County voters for their support.
Lynch shared the following comments following the election: “Thank you to everyone in District 16 who voted for me and my heart for our community. Many times, people feel they can only serve with a title, and I wholeheartedly challenge this notion. I will continue to serve the people of our community and work for a space that allows for communication, equity, and diversity. My hope is that we can turn from the rhetoric of political theater and get to work on making Oklahoma a better place for our children to learn, our elders to be honored, and our communities served.
Thank you for the honor to run for office and I look forward to continuing to work with you for a just, equitable, and fair district.”
