As the holiday season is in full swing, donations are being accepted by the Salvation Army and local citizens have been spending their spare times ringing the bells and helping fill the kettle at the Walmart store in Okmulgee. However, more help is needed and according to Okmulgee Salvation Army board member Carol Smith, there is a desperate need for volunteers to assist. Several days are completely empty Smith added, so any individual, family, organization, church, etc. that could spare a little time during their day should call Smith at 918-758-6947 for available times and days. Pictured above are some of the recent volunteers and their challenge they issued: Billy Hannon (Okmulgee Chamber) and Sarah Hannon (Okmulgee Primary School); Rev. Leon Anderson (local ministers); Mark McGriff (Church Brotherhood); Pam Riley and daughter Brittany (Nurses) and the Jackson family, who encourages all families to volunteer and spend quality time together for a good cause.
