Goldie P. Hudson, 88, of Okmulgee, went to be with the Lord on December 2, 2024.
Goldie was born September 21, 1936, to Opal Woodring-Cole in Hoxie, Kansas. While working at Liberty Glass in Sapulpa, Goldie met her future husband, Ray E. Hudson of Preston. The two were married in October 1960 and had three daughters. Goldie and Ray established and operated Kern Mobile Home Park in Okmulgee. In addition, Goldie started and operated a daycare center caring for the children of the mobile home park along with other local children.
Goldie enjoyed fashion, spending many hours creating pencil drawings of fashionable women, as well as crocheting and fitting dresses for doll blanks. Early in life, Goldie had a passion for electric slot car racing, bringing home bragging rights and numerous trophies to display. Throughout her adult life, Goldie most enjoyed spending time with her extensive family.
Goldie was preceded in death by her husband, Ray E. Hudson Jr.; her mother, Opal Woodring-Cole; her siblings, Velva Hadlock, Maxine Green, and Bobby Kanatzar. She is survived by siblings: Carolyn Wadsworth of Okmulgee, Cassie Harlan of Okmulgee, and Janie Vicchio of Hominy; daughters: Sonia Brown of Broken Arrow, Dea Wilson of Okmulgee and Mary Ducote of Okmulgee. Goldie is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at Okmulgee Cemetery on Monday, December 9, at 2 p.m. under direction of Green Hill Funeral Home.
