Okmulgee law enforcement authorities are investigating the discovery of human remains within the city limits.

The District 25 Violent Crimes Task Force and the Medical Examiner’s Office were working at the scene following the Monday afternoon discovery. The remains were located approximately a quarter mile west of Mission Lane, on the north side of Highway 62.

Officials have not yet released further details about the case, and the investigation is ongoing. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
