Preston Public Schools have announced a special bond election scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 11. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at regular voting locations.
The bond issue, totaling $2,750,000, aims to enhance facilities and resources for students and the broader community without increasing taxes. Key projects outlined in the proposal include: • A school and community storm shelter to provide safety during severe weather.
• A new English room with an integrated library to foster academic success.
• An Esports Gaming Center, designed to give students modern opportunities in competitive gaming and technology.
Superintendent Mark Hudson emphasized the importance of the bond for the community. This bond issue is an investment in the safety, education, and future of the students.
The district encourages all eligible voters to participate in the election. The initiative’s slogan, “No Tax Increase,” underscores the district’s commitment to maintaining fiscal responsibility while addressing critical infrastructure and educational needs.
