The Lady Dragons entered the postseason with confidence, earning a first-round bye in the District 1 tournament. They showcased their strength in their opening game, dominating Drumright 69-39 on Feb. 15 to claim the district championship and secure a spot in regionals.
--- Regional Tournament Struggles
Dewar faced a tough challenge in the first round of regionals on Feb. 21, where they went up against a talented Waukomis squad. The Lady Dragons struggled to find their offensive rhythm and ultimately fell 51-26, sending them to the consolation bracket.
Determined to fight their way back into contention, Dewar rebounded with a strong performance against Davenport on Feb. 22, securing a 54-40 victory to keep their postseason hopes alive. The win set up a crucial elimination matchup against Okay on Monday.
--- Heartbreaking Loss to Okay
With a chance to advance to the Area Tournament, Dewar faced Okay in a high-stakes game at the Mvskoke Dome. The game was a back-andforth battle, with both teams exchanging momentum swings throughout. Despite a valiant effort from the Lady Dragons, Okay pulled away in the closing minutes, sealing a 58-38 win to end Dewar’s season.
Although their playoff run ended sooner than they hoped, the Dewar Lady Dragons showcased resilience and determination throughout the postseason. With a strong core of players returning next season, they will look to build on their experience and make another deep playoff push in 2026.
