The Okmulgee County Election Board is organizing a training program for precinct election officials on Wednesday, May 29, and Thursday, May 30. This program underscores the crucial role these officials play in the electoral process, making their participation essential to the Oklahoma election system.
The training session will commence promptly at 9 am at the Green Country Technology Center, conveniently located at 1100 OK-56 Loop, Okmulgee, ensuring easy access for all participants.
During the training, Precinct Election Officials will acquire essential skills and knowledge in Election Day procedures and laws, including managing the voting device, transporting election supplies, processing voters, and issuing ballots to eligible voters. This comprehensive training ensures election integrity and upholds the election law, making it a valuable opportunity for all interested individuals.
State law requires all Precinct Officials to be trained in their duties. The County Election Board participates in a statewide program to provide Precinct Officials with updated information about new election laws and procedures.
If you are interested in participating in the training (you must be a registered voter of Okmulgee County), you can contact the County Election Board at 918-756-2365 or OkmulgeeCounty@elections.ok.gov or visit the State Election Board website at https://oklahoma.gov/elections/volunteer/poll-worker-opportunities.html.
