Ronnie Hopkins, 67, of Rose and an Independent, has announced his candidacy for US Representative District 2.
Hopkins describes himself as a proud American who cherishes faith, family and the great state of Oklahoma.
“With a deep-rooted love for our nation and a passion for preserving our freedoms, I am honored to announce my candidacy as an Independent for the U.S. Congress.
Unlike candidates controlled by party agendas, I answer only to the values I hold dear and the people I represent. Our freedoms are under siege, eroding bit by bit, yet too few voices are raised in defense. As your representative, I pledge to be that voice, unwavering in my commitment to safeguarding our liberties,” Hopkins stated.
“Freedom and liberty are not mere ideals but essential pillars of our society. Freedom grants us the autonomy to live, speak, and think without constraint, while liberty ensures that no authority can oppressively restrict our way of life or political views,” he said.
Hopkins said when government overreaches, dictating what we eat, buy, or seizing property under the guise of communal benefit, it threatens the very fabric of our nation.
He said he stands firm in supporting biblical principles, the Constitution of the United States, truth over compromise, principle over parties, cutting foreign aid, the American people over lobbyists and special interests, veterans and the right to bear arms.
“Furthermore, I propose a transformative reform of Social Security, turning it into a real trust fund that empowers you to become the owner of your trust fund account, retire at age 60 (if you choose), leave your trust fund account to anyone you choose, eliminate social security tax burden, and achieve financial security by age 65,” he said.
“Join me in this journey to reclaim our nation’s destiny. Together, we can uphold the values that define us and build a brighter future for generations to come,” he concluded.
