The Morris Public School Board convened on Monday for their routine meeting, beginning with the approval of the minutes from the previous meetings held on April 29.
The board approved the consent agenda, which included the monthly financial encumbrances and expenditures, as well as activity fund transfers to support the band boosters ($2,500) and the archery club ($960). Additionally, contract renewals with ParentSquare and OKTLE were ratified, along with the resignation of four staff members:

- Parker Ballard
- Clint Cox
- Reina Womack
Superintendent Chris Karch provided updates during his report, focusing on the upcoming graduation scheduled for Thursday, 7 p.m., at Covelle Hall on the OSUIT campus. He also discussed the recent storm damage and possible ways to address infrastructure needs at the elementary school and the addition of a second safe room on campus in response to recent tornadoes.
In further actions, the board acknowledged a notification from the Morris Education Association indicating that classroom teachers wish to begin negotiations for the 2025 fiscal year. The board then appointed Mark Mabrey as the spokesperson for these upcoming negotiations.
Other approvals included federal assurances and an ERATE resolution for fiscal year 2025, a Memorandum of Understanding with the Muscogee Nation for Mvskoke learning services, and a contract with Educational Funding Consulting LLC.
Following an executive session, the board accepted a resignation agreement with April Farrow and confirmed the reemployment of certified and support personnel for the next fiscal year. New coaching assignments were also approved, with Kalee King taking over slow-pitch softball, Jack Dingus leading track and Kelly Kindell coaching girls’ basketball.
